After you sell a home to Opendoor our team begins the process of getting the home list-ready. We typically hold homes for 20 to 30 days while we do the work. Then we list the home on our website and other MLS/web services. 

For most homes, the process looks like this:

1. We take ownership of the home and cover taxes, insurance, maintenance, HOA fees, and utilities… basically everything. Opendoor pays for all costs while we own the home.
2. Our team will review the photos and information from your earlier home assessment, along with move-out photos. A member of the team will also walk through the property again to collect more specific observations about the home and determine what work we will do to prepare and resell the home.
3. Next, our team will work to prepare the house for listing. We aim to make the home functionally move-in ready and free of cosmetic detractors.  
4. Once the work is complete, our team reviews current market conditions, and sets a listing price.
5. We install a lock and security system so we can monitor the home, and in most cases, offer self-touring to potential home buyers.   
6. We take photos of the home and list on the MLS, on our app and website, and other websites.
7. The home is ready for tours and its next owner!
