Employment verification for former Opendoor employees
If you need to verify employment for a current or former Opendoor employee — for a mortgage application, background check, or other purpose — here is how to do it.
All employment verification requests should be directed to hr@opendoor.com.
Automated verification
Opendoor uses a third-party employment verification service for standard verification requests. This is the fastest method.
Contact your HR representative or the requesting institution (such as your lender or background check provider) to initiate verification through the standard automated channels. Most major lenders and background check companies can process these requests electronically.
Manual verification
For requests that cannot be processed through automated channels, contact Opendoor's People team directly at hr@opendoor.com.
What you will need
Have the following information ready to ensure your request is processed without delays:
- Employee's full legal name
- Approximate dates of employment
- Purpose of the verification (mortgage, background check, rental application, etc.)
What Opendoor can confirm
Opendoor can confirm dates of employment and job title. Salary and compensation information requires a signed authorization from the employee before it can be released.
Processing time
Allow 3-5 business days for manual verification requests. Automated verifications through third-party services are typically processed faster, often within 24-48 hours.
Tip: If you are a former employee applying for a mortgage, let your lender know that Opendoor uses a third-party verification service. This can speed up the process significantly.
