For customers who are buying a home from Opendoor, we’ve taken a concessions-based approach with buying agents.
If you have a buying agent during the purchase process, then you’ll negotiate in advance with your agent what they should be paid. When you are ready to submit your offer, you can request that Opendoor pay for all or a part of your buying agent’s fee. We are consistently paying buyer agent compensation and going into contract with competitive offers.
We feel this approach focuses on transparency with you and your agent and also aligns with the spirit and intent of the NAR settlement.
You and your buying agent should be discussing and agreeing on the appropriate compensation amount before you begin the buying process and making offers on any homes.
