My access code or QR code isn't working -- how do I get in?

If you are standing at an Opendoor property and your access code is not working, do not panic. There are several common fixes you can try right now before calling support.

Troubleshooting steps

  1. Check that your tour window is still active. Access codes only work during your scheduled time. Open the Opendoor app and confirm your tour window has not expired. If it has, you will need to book a new tour.

  2. Make sure you are at the right property. It sounds simple, but double-check the address shown in your app against the property in front of you. Nearby Opendoor homes can look similar.

  3. Try re-entering the code on the keypad. Make sure you are entering your 6-digit access code correctly on the electronic keypad on the door. Double-check each digit carefully.

  4. Check your internet connection. The Opendoor app may need a data connection to load or refresh your code. Switch between Wi-Fi and cellular data if needed.

  5. Force close the Opendoor app and reopen it. This can refresh your session and generate an updated code.

  6. Check your text messages or email for a backup code. When you booked your tour, Opendoor sent your access code via text and email as well. Try using that code if the one in the app is not responding.

Warning: Access codes are unique to your booking. Do not share your code with others.

If nothing works

Call Opendoor support immediately at 888-352-7075. The support team can provide a new code or troubleshoot the keypad remotely while you are at the property. They handle these calls as a priority.

Do not attempt to force entry into the home. If you cannot reach support, you can reschedule your tour through the app.
