How do I schedule a self-guided tour of an Opendoor home?
You can tour most Opendoor homes on your own schedule -- no agent needed. The entire process happens through the Opendoor app, from browsing to booking to getting your access code.
Before you start
Make sure you have the Opendoor app installed on your phone. Self-tours are booked through the Opendoor app -- not the Key App or any other platform. You can download it for free from the App Store or Google Play.
How to book your tour
-
Open the Opendoor app and browse homes, or search for a specific address.
-
Tap on the listing you want to visit to open the property details page.
-
Tap "Tour this home" or "Schedule a tour" on the listing page. You will see available time slots.
-
Pick a time slot that works for you. Self-tours are available 7 days a week, typically from early morning to evening.
-
Complete identity verification if this is your first tour. You will need to take a photo of your government-issued ID and a selfie. This is a one-time process and usually takes just a few minutes.
-
Get your access code. Once your booking is confirmed, your access code will appear in the app and be sent to you via text and email.
-
Go to the property during your scheduled window and enter your 6-digit access code on the electronic keypad on the door.
Tip: Tour windows are typically 30 minutes to 1 hour. Your access code only works during your scheduled time, so plan to arrive on time.
What to expect
Self-guided tours are exactly that -- self-guided. You will have the home to yourself during your tour window. Take your time looking through each room, checking out the backyard, and getting a feel for the neighborhood.
If you want to bring your real estate agent along, they are welcome to join you during your tour window.
