How do agents get access codes for Opendoor properties?
As a licensed real estate agent, you can get access codes to show Opendoor homes to your clients. The process is straightforward and happens through the Opendoor platform.
How to get an access code
-
Download the Opendoor app or visit www.opendoor.com.
-
Select "I am an agent" when registering if you have not already registered.
-
Enter your MLS affiliation, Brokerage Name, MLS ID (used to log into the MLS system), and license number.
-
Retrieve access code.
Tip: Have your real estate license number ready before you start. This speeds up the verification process.
Key Agent Program
In June 2025, Opendoor replaced the previous Agent Access program with the Key Agent Program. If you are a member of the Key Agent Program, you may have streamlined access to codes and additional benefits.
The Key Agent Program offers three tiers -- Silver, Gold, and Platinum -- with increasing benefits at each level, including a 1% commission structure. If you are not yet enrolled, visit the Key Agent Program page on the Opendoor platform for details on how to join.
Troubleshooting
If you are having trouble getting an access code:
- Verify your license information is current. Expired or incorrect license numbers will prevent code generation.
- Make sure the property is available for showings. Homes that are under contract, sold, or on a safety hold will not allow new access codes.
- Try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser if the page is not loading properly.
Scheduling a showing for your buyer client
To schedule an agent-accompanied showing at an Opendoor property:
- Request an access code through the agent portal or by calling 888-352-7075.
- Choose your preferred date and time — access codes are typically valid for a specific window.
- Confirm the showing with your client and plan to arrive together during the access window.
Your buyer clients can also tour independently using self-guided tours through the Opendoor app. They do not need you present — see Can my buyer client visit Opendoor homes without me? for details.
Agent identity verification
When accessing Opendoor properties as an agent, you may need to complete identity verification. This typically involves providing your real estate license number and brokerage details through the agent portal. If you are asked for identity verification at the property (ID + selfie), this is the same Stripe Identity process used for all visitors — it is a one-time step.
If you are having trouble with verification, call 888-352-7075 for assistance.
