How do inspectors, appraisers, and vendors get property access?
If you are an inspector, appraiser, contractor, or other vendor who needs to access an Opendoor property, all access must be coordinated through Opendoor. You cannot use a self-tour code for professional access.
How to get access
-
Contact the Home Sale Advisor assigned to the transaction. If you are working on a specific deal -- such as a buyer's home inspection or an appraisal -- the Home Sale Advisor managing that transaction can provide you with a time-specific access code. Their contact information is typically included in the transaction communications.
-
If you do not know the Home Sale Advisor, call Opendoor support at 888-352-7075. Provide the property address and your role (inspector, appraiser, contractor, etc.). The support team will connect you with the right person or arrange access directly.
-
For buyer-side inspections and appraisals, the buyer's agent typically coordinates access. If you were hired by the buyer, ask the buyer's agent to request an access window on your behalf through their Opendoor contact.
Tip: If you received a work order mentioning an Opendoor property and want to verify it is legitimate, call 888-352-7075. The Opendoor team can confirm the work order and property details.
What to expect
- Allow at least 24-48 hours notice when scheduling professional access. Same-day requests may not always be accommodated.
- Bring your business credentials or ID. Opendoor may require verification of your professional role before granting access.
- Access codes are time-specific. Your code will only work during the approved access window. If you need more time, contact the Home Sale Advisor or support to extend your window.
Important notes
Professional access is handled separately from self-guided tours and agent showings. Even if you have an Opendoor account for personal home browsing, you will need to go through the coordination process above for professional visits.
If you are a vendor performing work on an Opendoor-owned property (not a property in a buyer transaction), contact Opendoor support directly to arrange access and confirm your scope of work.
