How do Opendoor open houses work?

Walk into any Opendoor open house during posted hours — no appointment needed. Unlike traditional open houses, there is no hosting agent on-site. You tour the home at your own pace using Opendoor's tech-enabled access system.

How Opendoor open houses differ from traditional open houses

Traditional open houses are hosted by a listing agent who greets visitors, answers questions, and walks you through the property. Opendoor open houses are self-guided. You unlock the door using the Opendoor app and explore the home independently.

There is no agent standing by inside the home. All property details, disclosures, and pricing information are available directly on the listing page in the app or at opendoor.com.

What to bring

  • Your phone with the Opendoor app installed — you will need it to access the home.
  • A valid photo ID — required for identity verification if this is your first time touring.

Even at an open house, Opendoor requires one-time identity verification (photo ID + selfie) through Stripe Identity before you can unlock the door. Once verified, you will not need to repeat this step for future tours or open houses.

How to find open house times

Check the listing page on opendoor.com or in the Opendoor app. Open house hours are posted directly on each home's listing when available. Not every Opendoor home has scheduled open house hours, so check the specific listing you are interested in.

If open house hours do not work for you

Opendoor tours will have specified availability. Any hours outside of this, we will be unable to accommodate.

Tip: If you are visiting multiple Opendoor homes in one day, complete your identity verification before you head out. This saves time at the door.
