How do I browse and tour Opendoor homes?
Finding and touring an Opendoor home is straightforward. You can browse listings online, filter by what matters to you, and book a tour on your own schedule — no agent required.
How to browse homes
- Go to opendoor.com/homes or open the Opendoor app.
- Search by city, ZIP code, or address to see available listings in your area.
- Filter your results by price, bedrooms, bathrooms, square footage, and more to narrow down your options.
- Click on a listing to view photos, property details, disclosures, and the pre-listing inspection report.
How to schedule a tour
- On the listing page, tap "Tour this home" and pick a time slot that works for you.
- Self-guided tours are available 7 days a week, so you can visit on your schedule.
- Note: Not all properties will be available for self-touring. Some properties may require an agent to schedule and accompany the buyer on a tour.
- For your first tour, you will need to verify your identity by uploading a photo ID and taking a selfie. This is a one-time step powered by Stripe Identity.
- Follow the instructions in the app to unlock the door and tour at your own pace.
Can I tour with my own agent?
Yes. If you are working with a real estate agent, they can accompany you on tours of Opendoor homes. Your agent can also help you schedule visits directly.
Open houses
Some Opendoor homes may be listed as having an "Open House" because self-touring is available at those properties. Unlike a traditional open house, an Opendoor agent will not be present at the property when you go to tour. Check the listing page for open house times in your area. For more details, see our guide to Opendoor open houses.
Do I need a buyer representation agreement to tour?
For self-guided tours, no signed agreement is needed — you tour independently through the Opendoor app. If you are touring with an agent, your agent may ask you to sign a buyer representation agreement, which is now standard practice following recent industry changes. Learn more in our touring without an agent agreement article.
Tip: You do not need to be pre-approved for a mortgage to tour, but having pre-approval ready helps you move quickly when you find the right home.
