How do I submit an offer on behalf of my buyer?
Submitting an offer on an Opendoor home is straightforward. You can do it through the Opendoor agent portal or through your MLS.
Submit through the Opendoor agent portal
- Log into the Opendoor agent portal at www.opendoor.com/makeoffer with your agent credentials.
- Find the property using the property address.
- Click "Submit Offer" and enter the following details:
- Your buyer's offer price
- Financing details (attach a pre-approval letter or proof of funds)
- Preferred closing date
- Any contingencies (inspection, appraisal, financing, etc.)
- Include your agent license number and brokerage information. If your profile is already complete, this will auto-populate.
- Review and submit. Double-check all details before submitting.
Opendoor typically responds to offers within 1-2 business days.
Submit through your MLS
If the Opendoor property is listed in your MLS, you can also submit an offer through your MLS system following the standard process for your market. Opendoor's listing agent information will be on the MLS entry.
Note: Please confirm with Opendoor that MLS offer submission is available for your market by contacting support at 888-352-7075 or emailing support@opendoor.com.
Track your offer
After submitting, track your offer status on the agent dashboard. You'll receive notifications when Opendoor reviews and responds to your offer.
Tip: Your buyer can also start the process on opendoor.com and add you as their representing agent. Make sure your agent profile is complete so you can be matched to the transaction.
What to have ready
Before you begin, gather these items to keep the process moving quickly:
- Buyer's pre-approval letter or proof of funds
- Your real estate license number
- Your brokerage details
- A written buyer representation agreement (required under current NAR settlement guidelines)
Following up on a submitted offer
After submitting an offer on behalf of your buyer, Opendoor typically responds within 1-2 business days. If you have not received a response within that window:
- Check the agent portal for status updates on your submitted offer.
- Contact support with the property address and your offer details.
- Ask for the listing agent's contact information if you need to follow up directly.
Tip: If your client's situation is time-sensitive — for example, they need to close by a specific date — mention this when you submit the offer so the team can prioritize accordingly.
