I'm an agent — how do I work with Opendoor?
Opendoor partners with real estate agents on both the buying and selling side. Whether you're representing a buyer looking at Opendoor-owned homes or a seller exploring a cash offer, there's a clear path to working together.
Buying side
Bring your buyer clients to tour and purchase Opendoor homes. Opendoor offers buyer agent compensation on most listings, with the amount varying by market.
To represent a buyer on an Opendoor home, simply submit an offer through the agent portal or through your MLS. Your buyer can also start the process on opendoor.com and add you as their agent.
Selling side
Refer your seller clients to Opendoor for a cash offer and earn a referral fee. Through the agent portal, you can request an offer on behalf of your client. Opendoor will generate a preliminary offer, and you'll receive status updates throughout the process.
If your seller client already has their own agent (you), the process works the same way. You represent your client throughout the transaction, coordinate with Opendoor on their behalf, and earn a referral fee. The Opendoor offer process does not change when an agent is involved — see Can I sell to Opendoor if I'm working with an agent? for the seller's perspective.
Key Agent Program
Opendoor's Key Agent Program is a tiered partnership program with three levels — Silver, Gold, and Platinum — that rewards agents with increasing benefits based on transaction volume. Agents in the program earn 1% commission on qualifying Opendoor transactions. Learn more in our Key Agent Program article.
How to get started
- Visit the Opendoor agent portal at www.opendoor.com and www.opendoor.com/makeoffer.
- Create an account or log in with your existing credentials.
- Complete your profile with your license number and brokerage details.
- Start submitting offers or referrals directly from the portal.
Tip: Make sure your license and brokerage information are up to date in your profile before submitting your first offer or referral.
Your client's experience
Your buyer clients can tour Opendoor homes independently using the app — you do not need to be present for every showing. As long as you are registered as their agent, you will receive credit when they submit an offer. Learn more about client self-tours.
If your buyer client needs to back out of a deal, the Opendoor Guarantee allows cancellation anytime before closing. See what happens if my buyer client needs to cancel for details on earnest money and contingencies.
